I am Lara, born and bred in South Africa. I grew up in a small mining town in Mpumalanga where everyone knew everyone.

I was brought up in a Portuguese household and went to the same school my entire schooling career so the move out of the small town to the big city to study Accounting was a huge culture shock.

I have entered the 40's and a wearer of many hats;

Wife, mom, coffee addict, CA(SA), animal lover, wildlife enthusiast, self proclaimed bird nerd, amateur photographer, the list goes on...

I've always loved photo's and I could often be found trawling through the old black and white photo's my folks had from their youth in Portugal. It was only in 2020 while locked down due to the pandemic that I actually thought to spend some time learning about Photography and how to take better pictures.

To me, photography is more than just the "rule of thirds" and all those technicalities, yes, they are important, but more importantly, a photo captures a moment, a feeling, a story that will otherwise be forgotten.
